This was originally scored for piano and voice (with the intention of scoring for jazz big band – not yet done) with key changes between each verse and chorus. It started with Chorus in C major, then Verse 1 in C minor, Chorus in E flat major (relative major), verse 2 in B flat major (one flat less), Chorus in B flat minor, verse 3 in B minor (chromatic step), Chorus in C minor (chromatic step), verse 4 in C major, Coda in A flat minor (distant key). I then revised it with simpler keys (just two - the version here) as a voice plus piano and as a lead sheet. I kept the original version with multiple key change modified slightly as a piano solo rag. I then created a totally new arrangement for women’s choir (four parts). These four “versions” are available here as a piano+voice score together with these several arrangements.
