Unlike the Phantasy-trios (and -quartets, and -quintets, ...) commissioned by the Cobbett Competition of the 20th century, this, like Schumann's Phantasiestücke Op.88, by contrast has distinct movements rather than a single movement with subsections (in the manner of the old Phantasy/instrumental-motet.) - Schissel
