"The other" "Feast to the Gods" Opera in three acts, ten scenes, one overture and one epilogue, for four soloists, four choirs and symphony orchestra, dancers and actors as extras. Lasting approximately two and a half hours. Sung and spoken mainly in Spanish (which can be adapted to the language of the country you represent), Nahuatl, Maya, English, French, German. Can be interpreted in whole or in separate parts.
The subject of this opera is "the Otherness" that can be seen from two main perspectives: as it is in the Mesoamerican world of the ancient Toltecs from central Mexico, or as in the world of today in which the acceptance of the other is still an issue.
The main character is "The Other" (baritone) or allegory of Quetzalcoatl, a man-god symbolizing the highest human values of the ancient Mesoamerican Civilizations (Olmecs, Mayas, Toltecs, Huastecs, Zapotecs, Mixtecs, Teotihuacanians, etc.) and his brother or double or twin "Tezca" (tenor) the "smoking mirror", which is the dark side, contestant warrior. He encouraged his brother to drink the elixir of the gods, the "pulque", from the drunkenness caused it makes "The Other" commit incest with his own sister: "She" (soprano). Thus truncate the process of civilizing mission he harbored and had to shine and flourish in all nations and kingdoms of Mesoamerica.
