Template:FolkDerivs

Usage

  • This template is used for derivative works based on a song by an unknown songwriter(s), as is the case with many traditional songs and folk songs, except for anonymous carols and hymns (which have their own templates). Unlike {{SongDerivs}}, this template omits the composer's name from the name of the resulting category ‘Pieces based on ‘X’’.
  • {{FolkDerivs|1|2|3}}
Variable 2 will replace the text Based on at the beginning of the template's output: "Based on Song X by Composer Y."
Since the composers of these songs are unknown, you should use Variable 3 to omit the composer name altogether by inserting a "0" in every usage of this template.
