Title page mentions an 1846 treaty. Publication probably by 1855 (HMB mentions score, parts and arrangement all in 1855.) Violin II appears twice in "Complete Parts" file, Violin I part is missing.
1855 confirmed by Frisch’s Brahms: The Four Symphonies who relies in part on MGG though of course could have been earlier.
