Recorded only once as of 2012, by the Budapest Sextet on Hungaroton (in 2005, issued 2006).
Based perhaps on the manuscript Ms. Mus. 14.718 @ National Szechenyi Library (Amicus ID 3424159), Budapest, Hungary. There may be another published edition besides the one above by Ms. Cohen and (in a broader sense of published) the 2005 recording, but this editor is unaware of it.
(Pleasantly, NML streams at present the Dohnanyi/Mosonyi sextet CDs, the Mosonyi string quartets 1,2,4 CD, and other such...)
Grimes (Ernst von Dohnanyi, p.32) lists several manuscripts, for the several versions- including ones at the British Library and elsewhere.
Entered by the composer as part of his composition exam, for entrance into the National Hungarian Royal Academy of Music.
