this may be his string quintet no.2 (or 3?) Ries' quintet no.1 seems to be his quintet no.1 in C major opus 37 published ca.1810 by Böhme of Hamburg. (Yep- according to the Gesellschaft the quintets are Op.37 in C, 1809; Op.68 in D minor, 1809 Vienna/1811 St. Petersburg; Quintet (with flute) in B minor Op.107 (1818); Quintet no.4 in A minor Op.167 (1827); Quintet No.5 in G major Op.171 (1833?); Quintet No.6 in E♭ major Op.183 (1833); Quintet No.7 in F minor WoO 62 (1836); Quintet (No.8) in A WoO 75 (undated).)

also, this is advertised in Allegemeine Musikalische Zeitung (October 1818 issue, page 744 of 1818 volume. Often though not always new issues specifically are advertised in these columns.) First published by Peters and Clementi, composed 1811 in St. Petersburg acc. to Ries' Catalogue Thematique, pp.44–45.

This numbering is perhaps made more complicated by the autograph of a string quintet "no.2" in C minor, autograph "Berlin im Januar 1825"- Hill's catalog notes probably corresponding to Op.29 (see D-B Mus.ms.autogr. Ries, H. 5 N (2)). It does suggest that he may have numbered his 2-cello and his 2-viola quintets separately (this latter is a 2-cello quintet)?...
