HMB lists quartet no.2 in A minor, op.11 (see category talk page listing opp. 1 through 11). (Wondering if I should therefore move this page to String Quartet No.1, Op.9 or just keep it where it is...) (The Library of Congress catalog lists a copy of the score of no.2.)

The Monthly Musical Record of December 1 1875, page 172, mentions a performance of this (as a new composition) in Leipzig in October? (on the second of two chamber-music evenings at the Gewandhaus, the first given the date October 16, the second not given a date in that article.) Julius Röntgen was in overall charge of the concert.
