Apparently the 2 violettas do have a soloistic role (at least in the first movement) sometimes playing when only the bass instruments are also playing, so shouldn't be folded into the rest of the strings - interesting... (Schissel) (I mention this because as tags go, 2hn str bc would be much more logical, but only if the violettas are treated as just-another-string-part - which they aren't.)
