Extra Information Written in 1893 as part of the incidental music for Le bourgeois gentilhomme. In the play, the Sérénade is written for Dorimène in the events of Act I, Scene 2. The first edition from 1957 (Heugel) contains an English translation by Rollo Myers (1892–1985).
