Extra Information | This is an arrangement of a "rustic" song ("when the drover has taken his oxen out to plough...") popular in Occitania and possibly dating as far back as the Middle Ages. A version with a French translation of the lyrics can be found here. Dedicated to Paul Feuga, a former politician and mayor of Toulouse (1863-1939) who seems far better known, at least locally, than the composer. The emporium MARTIN was less a publisher than a piano builder as can be seen here |
