Musique Concrete created on 4-track tape. This is Musique Concrète. My friend Brian Martinson and I went to the home of an acquaintance and, using my tape recorder, we recorded sounds we made with the toys in their children's play room. We also later made sounds with our voices and improvised sounds using my musical instruments. The result was a hodge-podge that somehow came together as a coherent piece of music (at least to our ears!). Psalm 148 proclaims praises to God from many aspects of His creation. So, since we made happy sounds with many different sound sources, I deemed it an appropriate title. This is not intended to be worship music at all. And, it should not be considered to be irreverant. All things can worship God, including all kinds of music, even if it isn't your favorite music style. For the video I threw together some pictures of clouds, cats, dogs, and insects, to represent some of God's awesome creation. Significantly, when I played it for my grandmother, she told me to turn it off. Apparently this is not your run-of-the-mill Easy Listening music. It has no melody, harmony, rhythm, or form.
