Found in a manuscript from the Handel/Coke collection, this piece is unattributed to a composer. It is found as the opening prelude to a lesson in D minor by John Christopher Pepusch, However it is very similar in style to the other preludes by William Babell. Considering that Pepusch was his teacher it seems likely Babell is the composer, though Pepusch might also be a contender.
