Although not officially recognized by either Deutsch or the Neue Schubert-Ausgabe, the missing slow movement of the Sonata is generally accepted to be the Adagio in D-flat major, D.505, according to Ferdinand Schubert's thematic catalogue.

The work is numbered as Piano Sonata No.11 in Classical Archives and as Piano Sonata No.12 in the Wiener Urtext Edition; it is unnumbered in the Breitkopf & Härtel edition.
