Alfred William Phillips (1844-1936) started his firm in London in 1883. It operated until ca. 1930, publishing mainly light music for piano by Percy Elliott, P. Czynski (one of Phillips' many pseudonyms) and others, violin (Benoit Hollaender) and mandolin (Sacchi).
