"Pest" here may refer to the city of Pest, which at the time was separated from Buda (now again Budapest)? (One notes that this was published only 6 years after the revolutions of 1848 and in particular that of Hungary against Austria.)

Actually, Pestal quite possibly refers to "Pestal: written by W.H. Bellamy ; arranged for the piano forte by C.E. Horn."- now generally attributed to Jan Kalliwoda, and published in the USA by Christman, 1847. See e.g. WorldCat.
