Extra Information | Two variants of this piece exist, both published in 1912. The first is by Ascherberg, Hopwood & Crew Ltd. in London, and the second is by Leo Feist in New York. Leo Feist's version of the piece lacks many of the deeper notes that are included in the Ascherberg version. The Feist edition has some other minor changes, mainly in the passion section.
This song is included in the edition of the White Star Line songbook purportedly used on the R.M.S. Titanic, however, the likely first public performance of this piece post-dates the sinking by two weeks. |
