Grove Music describes this as a madrigal, "1v, 3 insts, in Doni (1635)", though the Torchi edition has 4 voices unaccompanied, and RISM also describes it as 4 voices. The reason for this is undoubtedly that the music in Doni (1635) only has the words on the top line. The three lower lines could be taken by either instruments, or by singers, adapting the words to their lines. Tagged for both options.
