Dates from Allis, Michael: "Parry's Creative Process". Jeremy Dibble, in his notes to the Hyperion recording of Parry violin sonatas, writes of the partita (unfortunately not included on the recording!) that it was premiered in 1886 - whether the premiere was earlier (than the December 1886 performance mentioned by Allis- who mentions a surprised comment by Parry on the positive reaction; Parry regarded it as a minor work undeserving of the attention, it seems) is not noted. However:
The Hyperion label has more recently (2019) issued a recording of the partita, coupled with two of the composer's piano trios. In the notes to this recording Dibble remarks how Guerini premiered Parry's suite, a reworking of his 1872-3 suite de pièces, in early 1877 in Cannes, performing it in two concerts (possibly no more); this work was shelved and not heard again until its appearance as the partita in December 1886 with several changes: the bourrées added, the original opening fantasia dropped and a new "Maestoso" opening movement added.
The first publication may have been by Laudy/Bosworth? (The Laudy/Bosworth edition can be found at a few libraries.) Dibble suggests however that the Czerny publication of 1890 has precedence.
