History

The Orpheus Music Publishing Company of London publish mainly short works for domestic use from 1895 until 1920.
The catalog had four sections: piano works, violin and piano, songs with piano, and sacred music. The composers were were mainly British, but after 1900 there were several reprints of famous continental composers’ works. The piano works were by Allon, M. Maple, Marchant and Rockel, while the songs were mainly settings of texts by Fred Weatherly and Edward Oxenford. Violin and piano works were provided by Claude Feinigstein, Rene Desjardins, B. Draghi, and T.V. Davies. The sacred works were by T.V. Davies, H. Wilcock, H.R. Mark and A. Berridge.
