History

This British series, similar to Novello's Octavo Anthems, started about 1866. The items were all liturgical works for Anglican church use.
The composers were British, for example: Edward C. Bairstow, Alan Gray, G.M. Garrett, John Ireland, Basil Harwood, Charles Macpherson, Nathaniel Patrick, Henry Smart and C. Villiers Stanford.
