Extra Information Nel Tardo Mezzo (In the Late Half) is a sort of musical confession. The lyrics employ terza rima, the poetic form favored by Dante Alighieri, and explore the doubts and anguish that can strike many of us at any point of life. Divided in four parts, the piece has a traditional arch structure with the third song the most dramatic in tone. Overall, however the piece maintains a playful tone, offering a tongue-in-cheek nod to the monumental Divine Comedy.
