This popular song is advertised as part of the repertoire of Joanyd, who came to be known, rather mysteriously, as the "Perfect Singer". The lyrics were by Louis Bénech, who is paired with D.Berniaux on an equal level, even more so, since the back page of this edition lists solely his other songs. This could be explained by his being the publisher. He is sometimes credited with being either the composer or the author of the songs as explained here. The present one has been nicely recorded by Pierre Valray an extract of which can be found here.
