Extra Information *The title "Fantaisie" is crossed-out from the first page of the manuscript and replaced by "Morceau de concert". Written for the newly invented horn of the dedicatee, known as the "Cor Chaussier": an omnitonic, non-transposing instrument that has 4 pistons (2 ascending and 2 descending). horn and piano was completed in October of 1887, with the orchestration finished on November 2. This work was used as an examination piece (Morceaux de concours) by the Conservatoire de Paris. The Conservatoire used this work in the following year(s): 1908, 1914, 1935 and 2005.
