History

Founded in 1925 by Hermann Moeck in Celle, initially to compliment his manufacture of recorders. One of the earliest projects was a journal entitled Der Blockflötenspiel (1931-34), issued jointly with Nagel. Other serial publication included Celler Spielmann (1938-48) and the monthly Zeitschrift für Spielmusik. Series of printed music issued include Moecks Gelbe Musikhefte (from 1932), Moecks Kammermusik (from 1938) and Der Bläserchor (from 1956). In 1948, Moeck's son Hermann Moeck Jr. took over the publishing division. By 1956 he purchased the publishing firm of Friedrich Chrysander of Bergedorf which included performance material for Chrysander's Handel edition. 1958 saw the establishment of a relationship with the Polish State concern PWM and the launch of a New York office along with the Edition Moeck imprint.
