  • The piano score (#537841) is titled "Gammel Regiments-Marsch betittlet Melhus-Marschen, foreplystret mig af restauratør Wimpelmann (1866). After the title comes the original tune, followed by this note: "Restauratør Wimpelmann en meget musikalsk Trønder levede i 60 aarene skiftesvis paa Stenkjaer og stationen Heimdal ved Trondhjem. W[impelmann] havde en god musikalsk hukommelse og kunde plystre en hel det gamle marscher og danse, vom han delvis efter gehor accompagnerede paa piano. Det ovenstaaende musikstykke kaldte han Melhus-Marschen." This note is present also in the pencil draft (#537842).
  • The decitatee is called kaptein in the piano score (#537841), but major in the parts (#537840), which means they are not of the same date.
