The title page says "Deux Voix Egales", and the music specifies two sopranos.
Is the "earlier" mass "Op.52" (published in 1844) the same work as this, with an oddly persistent typo? I haven't seen it and don't know if they have the same or different music. They're in the same key, and Op.52 is taken up by a different work (admittedly, not that unusual since Op. nos. were assigned by publishers- I'm surprised it didn't happen more often.) - ES
