Apart from collecting folk songs, Escher also composed villotte, specifically for choirs, along the lines of popular Friulian songs, so this is likely male chorus rather than solo voices. Mr. Macchi's arrangement says "arm. M. Macchi". It is unclear what the nature of the harmonization is that would be different from Escher's original; perhaps the only difference is that it is for mixed chorus rather than male chorus.
