Macmillan of London, founded in 1843 is mainly a literary and educational publisher. However, it has published the authoritative Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians (1877- ) and many books on piano technique. Among the few scores it has published are Stanford and Parry's music for Greek plays, German's Just so Song Book (1902), and the musical tribute to Queen Victoria on her 80th birthday Choral Songs in honour of Her Majesty Queen Victoria (Parratt, Walter) (1899).
