Navigation etc.

Originally published in two volumes, Brod's Méthode de hautbois was likely issued between 1830-1835. The present volume represents the first of two. Aside from some basic, introductory prose and scale exercises, this volume is notable for the "40 Leçons faciles et progressives" and the "6 sonates faciles ". Here, they are printed with optional bass accompaniment, but later were reprinted as edited (i.e., Bajeux) with only the treble line. The Études et Sonates edited by Pierre Bajeux contain both volumes of the method with prose and rudimentary scale exercises redacted. Thus, volume one contains the two major sections from the above méthode.
