French Wikipedia article, and Discordant melody: Alexander Zemlinsky, his songs... give date of composition as finished in 1922, possibly based on a letter he wrote to Hertzka in September 1922 in which he said that that summer he had written an as-yet-untitled work in seven sections etc. (The orchestral parts were still not ready for a planned premiere in 1923- which as Beaumont notes was delayed by 364 days- but whether that means he had only finished the work in short score, or in full score, in 1922, is unclear. Still, 1922 seems more accurate for completion of at least most if not all of the work based on existing evidence.)
