Extra Information Not sure where the "musica di Giacomelli ed Handel" comes from. RISM does not show the opera as under Handel's name, except for an aria listed as "Amor deh lasciami; Lucio Papirio", but it also is listed as "Elpidia (excerpts)". It seems Handel inserted this aria into two different larger works.
  • In Grove Music's article on Handel, this opera is listed as "by G. Giacomelli, Parma, 1729, slightly adapted". It would seem that Handel did very little toward the work as a whole.
