History

The English firm Lengnick was founded in 1893 by Alfred Lengnick, but later joined Schott shortly after the latter's demise (1904) while retaining its name.
Lengnick promoted the Simrock catalogue (Brahms Dvorak etc) in the UK . At the same time it published contemporary British composers such as Arnold, Rubbra, Ernest Markham Lee (1874—1956), Reizenstein (1911-1968) and William Brocklesby Wordsworth (1908-88). The firm was acquired in 1991 by Complete Music Ltd. as its classical division. Complete Music went dormant, and Lengnick's catalog is now handled by Ricordi as of 2015.
