Lahou of Brussels, Belgium published violin and piano works and songs in the 1840s. Typical composers were pianists Bertini and Hünten, and violinists Louis, Ernst and Singelée.
Lahou's most enduring publications were the first few items in Jean Baptiste Singelée's series of operatic fantasies for amateur violinists. These were soon adopted by Schott and reprinted many times by Litolff, Ditson and others.
