John G. Klemm started a music publishing business in Philadelphia with his brother A. F. Klemm in 1818. The partnership dissolved in 1822. Klemm bought the stock of the music publishing firm run by Allyn Bacon in 1823 and continued to conduct business in Philadelphia until 1880.
