History

H.L. Grahl of Frankfurt operated in the immedate post-Second World War period (ca.1948-1960). It had two main series: piano pieces for children, and historical works.
Among its historical items there was an orchestra series, featuring such works as Boccherini overtures, and an unusual viola concertos series. The concerto series Musica Antiqua, edited by Albert Kranz and Hans Mlynarczyk, included works by Zelter, F. A. Hoffmeister and Pleyel (arr. of Cello Concerto in D major, B.105). They also published a facsimile of Leopold Mozart's Versuch Einer Grundlichen Violinschule.
