This firm was founded in Frankfurt am Oder in 1885 by Georg Bratfisch and published music for domestic use: songs, piano pieces, and violin pieces. Its output was considerable, for example Hofmeister's Monatsberichte lists 60 works for 1899 alone. Georg Bratfisch Verlag was still operating in 2003 at least, but has moved to Kulmbach since 1925 or 1926.
The main composers are largely forgotten today: Carl Bratfisch (possibly a relative of the founder), Paul Blumenthal (1843-1930), and Fritz Wenzel.
