The composer is identified as "Fanchette-Crespi" on the first edition which would imply either a composer with a hyphenated surname or a joint composition by two authors. The work's entry in the Catalog of Copyright Entries lists the following: "by Fanchette Crespi (nom de plume)." S.M. Berg published two other works by Valentina Crespi (under her real name) in 1917. No composer with the surname of Fanchette has been found. This composition is being identified as the work of Valentina Crespi until contrary evidence surfaces.
It appears that S.M. Berg did not issue a piano solo version so the original instrumentation is being listed as theater orchestra despite the 1917 edition being an arrangement by Bergé.
