Quartet composed to celebrate the birth of the composer's first child, Luna. Each movement expresses a sentiment expressed by the composer in relation to the new life.

  • I - The Seed of Paternal Hope: "How I felt about my hopes for my daughter while she was in the womb." (This is a three-voice reworked version of two-voiced Lunar Canon Op.4)
  • II - Learning: "Life has a stumbling begining that grows in complexity as we learn."
  • III - Energy & Inocence: "New life comes with inocent energy."
  • IV - Paternal Preocupation: "The parent has now a permanent worry as the new life faces challenges."
