Spanish translation by A. Gonzalez also printed, libretto published in 1833.

We have no wholly authentic letters by Donizetti for an important period of 1831. According to Zavadini, Gilardoni died while writing the libretto and it needed to be finished by Donizetti, but this cannot be confirmed. (Donizetti and his Operas (Ashbrook), p.552.)
