Misc. Notes A stunning composition of which there is only one known commercial recording. Maria Malibran (nee Garcia) was a famed mezzo-soprano of early 19th Century opera, famous for her "stormy personality and dramatic intensity", dying at the age of 28 after falling from a horse. See Wikipedia. This homage by Czerny was published in the year of her death, 1836, as were tributes from other notables including William Balfe and Ignaz Moscheles.
