Extra Information | A strange, somewhat twisted sound of an otherwise classic feeling short Waltz |
After writing several "normal" charming and Romantic classical pieces, I wanted to explore trying “stranger” expressions of music. Still, more traditional classical music would come to me and would have the urge to put it to paper. In trying to reconcile these ambitions, I purposely tried to “twist” the more classical sounding piece to have some oddities in the sound. Thus the title “Exotic Waltz” was born. I remember this being a piece I would play with in my head during some of the more boring engineering lectures I would attend at the University of Cincinnati. After a day of arranging in my head, it became simply a matter of determining how to write it down on paper at the end of the day. I never meant for this to be a “serious” piece of music. This piece was more of experimentation for me, but I enjoy it none the less.
