One day I was playing around with the synthesizers and decided to take Classical Music's "Urpiece" (The Prelude from Book 1 of Bach's Well Tempered Clavier) and put my own melody on top (good enough for Gounod I figured, good enough for me). Well, by the time I was done, there was not much left to the ear of the original but the harmonic underpinning, though the whole piece is in there - plus I threw in some of the Ave Maria for good measure. I kind of liked it (being a huge "Switched on Bach" fan - the recording that actually got me interested in music and changed my life forever - showing the world (at least me at the time) that long dead composers' music can still come to life in a totally refreshing way!). I figured since I totally contorted the first prelude, why stop there? I started modifying some of the other preludes to match how the original programatically moved me. Some are changed a lot more than others. Not really arrangements for the most part (so I did not want to disturb the Bach community too much by putting them as arrangements under Bach - some are just as much Kram). With the exception of the last one ("Roll Over Bach"), the original piece is always embedded in the Musing.
I am only posting the original sound files as there is not a score in the traditional sense (though they are all fully written out). Unfortunately a few of the originals were not recorded well. Tried to post process as well as I could.
Eventually I plan on adding a Musing for each of the Preludes (unless some wealthy Bach lover pays me handsomely to stop here).
