The incidental music (by Wilhelm Genast), whose overture this is based on/is a revised version of, was premiered in Weimar's Grand Ducal Theatre in July 1855. This last has only partially been published.
The final, 1866 version of the overture was premiered on Palm Sunday 1866, conducted by Wilhelm Kalliwoda (son of Jan/Johann Kalliwoda, who incidentally died at the end of that year). In addition to the Raff.org link above, see also Burg_en.htm, and relevant sections of Schäfer and of Thomas (2011).
