2nd setting of the text; D.852 is the 1st setting. The chorus as it stands in its original form is a fragment. It has been completed by Dietrich Knothe (1929-2000) and Reinhard van Hoorickx (1918-1997), who composed performing versions for many of Schubert's unfinished works. Knothe and Hoorickx's completion has been recorded by Christine Brewer, the Holst Singers (conducted by Stephen Layton) and Graham Johnson for the Hyperion label.
