Both existing manuscripts of this work are arrangements. One, at Schwerin, is, according to the title page, "oboe doubling on recorder, two chalumeaux, two horns, two concertante violins, two concertante cellos, strings, and continuo", though Peter Johann Fick "omitted the chalumeaux and replaced the second concertante cello with bassoon" (Zohn, Music for a Mixed Taste, p.46). At Dresden, "Johann Georg Pisendel appears to have arranged the lost chalumeau parts for oboes, transferred the recorder part to oboe, altered details of instrumentation in several movements, and moved the menuet to the end of the suite." (Zohn, p.46).
One could assume that the title page on the Schwerin parts is the original, but since it is not an autograph manuscript, this is not certain.
Grove Music's instrumentation for this is "rec, ob, 2 chalumeaux/ob, 2 hn, 2 vn, 2 vc; str" with continuo, but this seems to come from the Schwerin manuscript.
Tagged for undetermined instrumentation for now, and subject to correction if an autograph manuscript ever surfaces.
Also recorded on a 2017 cpo CD where it is described just as a concerto for "recorder and oboe" (and strings). This CD apparently has some excellent notes on the problems of source transmission for this work.
