Note that Bar 11 in the second movement is incorrect.
Although Bax dedicated this to Hugh Prew, an amateur clarinettist he played cricket with, Bax worked on this piece with Thurston, the preeminent clarinettist of the day; Thurston's editorial skills are decidedly old-school and much of the phrasing in the Murdoch edition is radically different to Bax's original manuscript.
