Cinema Incidental Series

History

  • This series consisted of at least 84 compositions intended for use as accompaniment for silent movies and was issued from 1917 to 1927. The first ten numbers were published by the Cinema Music Co. Belwin, Inc. apparently took over the series (and, one assumes, the publisher) in 1918. The compositions were published as parts for a typical theater orchestra with a piano-conductor score. Most, if not all, the piano-conductor scores were also published in Belwin's PianOrgan Film Books of Incidental Music which also included piano scores for titles from Berg's Incidental Series.
