According to one WorldCat entry, this is based on Rossini's Cinderella (La Cenerentola).

I'm guessing not so, and I see no thematic links at all (see annotated vocal score here to the latter work) - perhaps I'm not looking carefully enough, or perhaps it's based on Isouard's earlier opera on the same subject, or a lesser-known one, e.g. - Schissel


Not to be confused with Bellak's Cinderella, Op.390 from the composer's Reveries from the Opera series. This is Cinderella from his "Shower of Melodies" series. However, it might be from someone's "Cinderella", as the Shower of Melodies series is, again, a series of opera paraphrases. It even says so, right on the tin. RISM says these themes are in fact from William Tell and Armida (by Rossini, that is) (F major theme here is Ubaldo's aria Come l'aurette placide spirar fra l'erbe e i fiori), though he may have reused them in other operas.
