Thomas Sporer (c.1490-1534)
German composer, probably born in Freiburg, dead in Straßburg. His high reputation among his contemporaries can hardly be deduced from his rather few preserved compositions. Apart from the bass part of a motet only 8 songs were published posthumously. They demonstrate Sporer as personality standing out from the other contemporary, German song composers. Most of his songs are resembling the French chansons.
